Nine months old!

August is a whopping nine months old today! I guess next thing we know it will be his 1st birthday! Time flies when you are having fun!! He has been crawling with more expertise each day for about a week so things are getting a bit trickier around here! What a blessing, joy, and wonder this little boy has been to us!! We love you, August!

Montana's class performed the book 'The Mitten' yesterday and each student had a small speaking part. Obviously, Montana was a bunny...and a mighty cute one, huh?? She had missed school all week because of a fever virus( we think that's what she had) so she made it back to school the day of the play and did great remembering her line! All those little ones were so precious!!

The Oxford moms and tots group met at the Activity Center today for gymnastics free play. We joined in the fun...all of us(even Montana)! Montana woke up with a low grade fever so I kept her home. Thank the Lord I did because her fever got worse all day! Then we spent 3 hours at the doctor!! It was a relief to know she didn't have the flu and the doc thought it was a fever virus. Anyhoo...that was a little side note;). Sage was tumbling and running and having the greatest time. It was free play so kiddies were all over the room, but the lady who teaches gymnastics walked over to me and asked about Sage's experience...then insisted that I enroll her! We may have a little gymnast on our hands!!

We went to the park on Saturday and enjoyed a picnic lunch and playing in the sunshine! The girls rode their bikes and Blake has the best time on our "new" playground! Seriously, he told me twice that it was the coolest playground he had ever been on!!

We have our first crawling child!!
I'm cant upload the video on the iPad but as soon as Blake let's me on the laptop, I will! I can't believe it!!!

On another note, we went to Tupelo with our friends Meredith, Myla, and Selah today and had a crazy time trying to shop Hobby Lobby with 4 children under 4 years of age! Thanks Meredith...it was fun! And it's SO COLD...there was even some snow in Oxford!

The Picard crew(minus Mikey) went on a carribean cruise the week before Christmas! Minus forgetting the kids' luggage and the stomach bug, we had an incredible time hanging out, playing, swimming, and eating!! Some friends had us over today for a birthday party to celebrate Jesus' birth! Sage was very perplexed about it ever since I told her and kept asking "Is Jesus going to be there?"...it was a bit tough to explain to her three year old brain. Nonetheless, we had a fun hanging out with friends, decorating cupcakes, and making a craft! Thanks Jill for having us!!

We had a fun night tonight exchanging gifts as a family and acting out the Christmas story(this is our last night at home without plans before christmas!). Sage was Mary, Blake was Joseph, August was baby Jesus, and Montana was the angel. The angel boldly proclaimed "Glory to God in the highest" right on cue! Wonderful memories!!

Montana performed with the children's choir from church this past Sunday at the Ford Center on Ole Miss' campus for a community-wide Christmas concert! She said she didn't want to sing on stage but we told her it would be easy and fun. She did great and they were just precious! Montana is the second from the left:

I promise I will pull the camera out and take more pics these next few weeks as we soak up each moment of celebrating our Savior's birth! As I was pulling boxes out of the attic, the girls were squealing with excitement! Once the tree was up, August wouldn't stop laughing at the tree...it was too funny! So...the tree is up, stockings hung, and I even put a wreath on my car(will post a pic)! I just LOVE the Christmas season!!!

Little late but.....we hosted thanksgiving in Oxford this year because Blake was on call. The Booths were all so kind to accommodate us and bring the celebration here! It was an overwhelming day of giving thanks!!! We went around the table and shared our hearts and gratefulness to God in various ways that He has blessed us! I couldn't put it into great words on that day but I am incredibly thankful for the present!! The love of Christ, the relationship He has provided for me with him, my faithful and encouraging husband, my children who teach me so much and are the loves of my life, The favor of the Lord in health and healing since Brads diagnosis almost a year ago, the faith of our families, encouraging friendships, and on and on and on! I don't know if I have ever been more at peace than now. Thank you, God, for accepting me and adopting me!

We have enjoyed attending a few football games the past couple weeks. We took the girls to the Louisiana tech vs ole miss game and Blake and I were able to go to the LSU vs Ole miss game this weekend!

My nephew turned ONE! Where did the past year go?? It literally was yesterday that Blake was in Chicago and Lyn(my sis) called to say she was in labor. The girls and I threw bunches of clothes in the suitcase and headed to Baton Rouge! Fun, fun!! We don't get to see this little guy near as much as we would like but it was a treat to be at his "rubber ducky" party! Lyn went all out and it was adorable! We love you, Landy!

My moms dad, pawpaw Gene passed away yesterday. We have hope that he accepted Christ in his last days here on earth. My mom, dad, and brother shared God's love with him, read scripture to him, and prayed with him! He acknowledged and affirmed the words they shared and because of that we are all able to have such peace in the midst of this loss. I will not forget our last visit to see him in the hospital where he teased Montana by shaking his pointer finger at her and she held his hand. He played with August's toes and wanted to know if we are having any more babies....he always has asked me that! Sage was uneasy with the hospital setting so she stayed in blakes arms. And when Blake shook his hand and I kissed him goodbye he asked, "what's the rush?"....that's pawpaw for sure! I hope to see you on the streets of gold one day not too far away!!!

Celebrating daughters is a common thing around here! We ended Sages birthday at chickfila(dinner of her choice) with some new friends and brought the cookie cake with us...I realize I should not have brought "Ariel" in public! Sage is fwee!!!! Happy birthday to my precious, yet extremely feisty, Sage! She recently said her name was Sage Augusta Drive Booff...the fact that we now live on Augusta Dr. Is pretty confusing to a little girl trying to learn her full name! Seems like yesterday we were driving to the dungeon(UAB's old women's hospital) to meet Sage in person. She truly was the easiest baby and Blake and I know God was so gracious through it!! We really look forward to seeing our beautiful, compassionate, particular, little lady grow and embrace her Creator! We love you, Sage Augusta!!!

The weather was perfect and Montana had been asking to have a campout with Blake after reading a Berenstein Bears book where they camped out with their dad. It was fun for everyone as Sage got to "campout" in a tent in our closet! So, we were all making preparations with tents, pillows, sleeping bags, flashlights and blankets. What a memory!!

It's been over a year since we've seen our friend Mae, who we met and played with in Birmingham. But, these girls remembered each other and played for several hours while mae's parents(and our friends) went to the ole miss game last Saturday! It was a treat to have her over!!

Well, this is my 4 month old post, but I'm 11 days late...whoops! Auggie is such a doll and quite a funny baby who doesn't stop smiling(except when he had an allergic reaction to amoxicillin)! And yes, we are all still pretty obsessed with him:). I'm starting to see a difference between he and the girls as he likes to be jerked around and rocked with force by his big sisters!

On June 26th Blake graduated from residency!!!! It truly was a great feeling to complete this leg of the journey God is taking us on! Only HE can be credited with our survival and growth as believers and a family!!! I am incredibly proud of Blake and how he has loved me and the girls, and now August, though the demands of residency tugged him the other way! Praise the Lord for his grace and no more residency!!!!

Sage is quite the defiant one...anyone who is around her knows this! But, of course she can be as sweet as sugar! She has a funny view of the male gender and has for about the past 6 months. She always asks if "the daddy" is going to be wherever we are going and says she doesn't like "him". But, the funny thing is, she is more interested in being with males than females when it comes to family...such as her own daddy, cousin, uncles, pawpaw, and pappy! She really enjoyed hanging out with her uncle Brad a couple weeks ago when he came to visit...and Montana caught it in action on my phone! Thanks Mo!! Isn't it sweet?

Can't believe it! Really?? No way. Yes, my firstborn is five and she Couldn't be more excited! I just returned from school after having lunch with her in the cafeteria, meeting all of her classmates, and eating cupcakes! What a treat for me( I plan to make a habit of lunch dates:))!! She made my heart melt just before I left by announcing to her class "isn't my mom the sweetest"!!! I cant help tearing up to think how God has blessed us with a beautiful, inquisitive, kind-hearted little girl like you Montana! We love you and remember august 25th like it was yesterday! Blake admitted last night that Montana starting school really snuck up on him! I think we are both in shock!!!
To say she was excited would be an understatement!! The whole Booth bunch loaded in the car to bring her this morning. She remained excited until our goodbye hug at the classroom...I didn't want to let go but I knew I had to because she was going to react to how I did. Then, Ms. Mandy, her teacher, gently grabbed her hand and there she went....off to kindergarten! Ahhhhhh!!! This one snuck(sp) up on me! Wow, is it really 10 years next year??? It's been a wonderful and crazy 9 years of learning how to better love, serve, and glorify God...and we still have a long way to go!! First, we were going to do water balloons but a storm popped out of nowhere. Then, Blake and the girls were going to get some ice cream but we realized time did not allow. So the girls settled for decorating cookies we made on Monday but noticed the daddy-cookie-monster had eaten all but one(and one cookie won't cut it for two little girls)! However, Oreos dipped in almond bark and topped with sprinkles made everyone happy!!!

Bittersweet...
Bitter to leave so many wonderful and irreplaceable people, but sweet to finish residency. Our last night in bham we lit some sparklers and celebrated Blake being done!! We ate our last brusters ice cream cone with our fav ice cream buddies ever(we are thinking Ole miss peeps don't like ice cream bc we can't find anywhere to get it!)! Our little guy is growing fast and hasn't missed a beat through the move and our trip to Louisiana. I have tons of info to post from our new house, blakes trip to Africa, and our adventure to south Louisiana! I will get to it ASAP. Blake starts his new job tomorrow so we are excited and know the sweet Lord is guiding our steps. Speaking of steps...we took a walk this evening and saw 5 deer and a rainbow!!! How cool is that!?!?

The girls are both taking a few gymnastics classes together at church before we move. Sage is incredibly excited to join big sis in this venture;). They had a few open spots and I won't be able to walk to such activities for too much longer so I(and they) thought it would be fun. They had their first class on Tuesday and had a ball. I didn't go in the room so I had them demonstrate what they did when the class was over for some pics!

Big boy is 8 weeks old today!!! He has just started smiling and even cooing...especially when his belly is full:). He is sleeping well and trucking right along with mommy and big sisters all around town! We love you, Augs, and are enjoying our boy blessing!

Amazing Friends

I'm beginning to get overwhelmed with sadness. The Lord has blessed me with amazing friends here in Bham who love Jesus, their husbands, and their children with every part of their being. We have all been going through our husband's residencies(and having babies) together and have bonded intimately through our relationships with Christ. I think it's pretty unique to have so many wonderful women to call my friends and I will miss these lovely ladies terribly! We do, however, plan to have annual(at least) reunions to hang out and reminisce on these fun and crazy days of residency! I love y'all and will miss you!!!

Aug's First Zoo Trip

At a wee 4 weeks old, August was introduced to the Birmingham Zoo! He slept the whole time, but I know before we know it he will be running around the zoo enjoying the animals with his sisters!!

Well, preschool is over for Montana and she's now a kindergartener(is that how you spell it??)!!! It was such a precious little program! Montana, along with 2 children from the other classes, gave the welcome to everyone by saying in unison "Welcome to Graduation." We practiced and practiced to make sure she would say it loud and clear and she did it!! I wish we could upload videos from our crazy camera, but if you ask her, I'm sure she will say her part for you:)! We love you Montana, our big girl!!

August James is one month old! I'm feeling refreshed today since Blake let me sleep in(hence why I'm blogging)...I didn't wake up until 9:45!!! Thanks hub...I needed it. August is sleeping well but I am still adjusting to 3 little ones, meeting their needs, and having fun all at the same time! The girls continue to "love on" their brother relentlessly, but can you blame them??? Such a sweet boy...we love you Aug!!

Life with three kiddos is busy...crazy busy!! August is such a good baby, but the challenge is keeping his "other mothers" off of him(not to mention the 2 year old who seriously thinks she can do EVERYTHING!)!!! The Lord does not give us more than we can handle, right? And, when we are weak, HE IS STRONG!!! I love being a mom more than anything and know that He is making me love Him and depend on Him more each day! Happy Mother's Day to all the moms:)

He is RISEN!!! It's been a special Easter season as the girls have heard the Easter story and become very interested in what Easter is about. Hearing them talk about Christ's death and resurrection and ask questions is truly the greatest thing for a mom! Easter was my first full day home and we enjoyed celebrating with family as Blake's mom cooked a yummy meal and, of course, Easter baskets!!

HE is here! The surprise was so fun and it's taken Blake a few days to believe that he has another male in the house!! August James Booth was born at 7:21 am on Thursday, April 21. The c-section went as good as they can, I think, and we are all as happy and thankful as can be for our good gift from the Lord!!!

We were invited to celebrate with our friends, Ryan and Ginger, for Ryan turning 30! He is a resident with Blake and we have been blessed by their friendship during our time here in Bham! It was a BEAUTIFUL day with a cool breeze and just perfect to be on the lake.

Egg Hunt!!!

It's a beautiful day, though a little chilly, to celebrate Easter!!! Montana's teeball game was cancelled due to the extreme rain we had last night so the girls and I got to go to the Easter egg hunt at church. Blake had his OKAPS(aka annual ophthomology assessment) this morning so it all worked out perfect!!!

These pictures are lame but I did get decent video coverage. She does not look thrilled in these pictures and she wasn't! This afternoon I asked her if she had fun singing and she shook her head "no" and said there were hundreds of people there! They were cute with the red shirts and bandanas tied around their necks.

Her class was playing "red light, green light" in the courtyard when Sage and I walked up...she's lounging on the bench!

Nesting

Well, I have been nesting as I mentioned before, but sorta in a different way maybe? Since we don't know what we are having and we don't have a "nursery" to decorate, I've been creatively nesting. I even spotted a door in someone's dumpster down the street(who is renovating) and asked Blake if he would get it for me. For memories sake heres my list: I have painted the kitchen table and chairs, painted the crib, painted a pic for baby's room, built a monogram thingy out of wood for baby(it will be the letter of baby's first name), bought and painted a changing table from salvation army, bought a dresser(pictured below) from an antique store in Helena, bought a nightstand without a top at a garage sale and I'm almost finished creating the top, and made a full-length mirror with the door from the dumpster(pictured below). Phew. No wonder I'm hurting:)

Blake wanted to take prego pics of me...and this includes the baby's chest...yes, it's blue and Blake picked it out!! Blake dumpster diving...the girls and I were all laughing our heads off! I told them that I hope they marry a man as funny and crazy as daddy who loves Jesus as much as he does:)

Crawfish Boil 2011

We had our 2nd annual crawfish boil yesterday! It was a day filled with good friends, sunshine, springtime, and yummy crawfish! Blake did a great job as the lead crawfish boiler!!!

April Fools Debut

Since Montana is old enough to understand teasing and joking, we talked about April fools day being a fun day to do jokes. I saw this cute idea for making eggs out of white chocolate and putting a yellow m and m as the yolk. So, I thought I'd give it a shot and serve it along with some biscuits for "biscuits and eggs." They loved it!!

Zoo and Pneumonia???

You may wonder what the zoo and pneumonia have to do with each other...well, I'll tell you briefly. The Bham zoo opened a new elephant exhibit and Montana was on spring break so, of course, we were there!!! Like I mentioned in the Tough Mudder post, we had all been sick(Montana had pneumonia) and coughing but Sage. After spending the morning at the zoo, we got home and I couldn't get off of the couch. I dozed off and woke up with chills, called Blake at work, and ended up at the Maternity Evaluation Unit. Four hours later, I was diagnosed with pneumonia and admitted for 2 nights!!!! It was wild but we were glad to know what the problem was and that I would soon be better! Thank you, Lord, for healing and for family to help us in need!!!

He's a Tough Mudder!!!

If you don't know what Tough Mudder is, please google it:). Blake and several of his Bham friends participated in this crazy obstacle course in March. It involved lots of training by Blake...he was working out like mad and running almost everyday!! The "race" happened to be the weekend after he was sick(well, we all were but Sage) and he still made it through to the end! Bravo, Blake...Montana, Sage, and I think you are the strongest man alive!!!!

Trip to LA

We took a road trip to Louisiana in late February with Beth, Breland, and Barrett to visit extended Booth family we didn't get to see at Christmas! We also were able to visit with several friends who have recently had babies....and then, the girls and I stayed a couple extra days to see Lyn and my niece and nephews while Caleb was on a mission trip! Phew, that was a lot of info!! At the zoo with Grandma, Pappy, Bebe/Beth, and Barrett!! Sage and baby Landon...how cute are they???
